Color Me Rad 5k
Nine ladies ran the Color Me Rad 5k in support of AGC. All nine of us finished. It was amazing. Some of the girls had never run a day in their life. Some people had to slow down, some people had to speed up…however, no matter the pace, we stayed together. It was a pretty amazing thing to do together.
The race itself was fun. Every 3/4 of a mile or so, you ran through a color blasting station. I’m not sure if that is the technical term for it or if there even a technical term for it. When you run through, you get color bombed. Some of the stations were colored powder. The other stations you were blasted with some sort of colored liquid. I am not sure what it is made of (I heard some people saying corn syrup). Whatever it was, it stung if it got in your eyes. I know this from the green station. My ears and eyes got blasted. Actually, My entire face/head did. It’s nearly two weeks later and I still have chunks of green in my hair.
We decided to run and raise money for the scholarship foundation. In less than two weeks, we were able to raise a little over $5000. I do not know the exact amount just yet as we are waiting on corporate donation matches. The estimate is roughly $5k…not bad for a handful of ladies looking to have a bonding experience.
I am currently looking into venues for our first annual Winter Gala. Stay tuned for updates!
